Mayo Avenue Rear Yard Upland Depression

The Mayo Avenue Rear Yard Upland Depression has a tributary area of approximately 52 acres and contains multiple small localized depressions. The general direction of flow is inward toward the main depression located in the rear yards of several properties along Mayo Avenue and Center Avenue.

In 2017, the City of Wheaton contracted V3 Companies Inc. to complete the 2017 Flood Study Project IV which included the Erie Street Upland Depressional Area / Overland Flow Path and the Mayo Avenue Rear Yard Upland Depressional Area. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent and frequency of overland flooding into the area’s homes. The area was surveyed and modeled, and an alternative analysis was completed.
