City of Wheaton Flood Prone Areas

Flood Prone Area Studies - 2016 Project 2

The City of Wheaton have retained the services of professional engineering consultant, V3 Companies to perform the 2016 Project II Flood Study. This Study will include the creation of a model through hydraulic and hydrologic analysis. It will also include the identification of homes modeled to receive overland flooding up to the 500-year critical event, and an alternative analysis where viable alternatives to reduce overland flooding will be identified and quantified.

The expected completion date of this project is Winter 2017. Please check back to this page as the Engineering Department will post new information when it becomes available.

Flood Prone Area Studies - 2016 Project 1

The City of Wheaton retained the services of a professional engineering consultant in the spring of 2016 for the purpose of developing stormwater studies for three flood prone areas in the City of Wheaton. The studies are being performed in response to Wheaton City Council Strategic Goal 3D, which generally states to document overland flooding through data collection and engineering analysis of principal structures in floodplain and flood prone areas. While each of the three flood prone areas do reside in the same general area of the City, they all have different characteristics.
