Many properties have drainage problems that range from major flooding to persistent standing water. Flooding is a personal, psychologically exhausting event that leaves many confused and unsure of what to do or what is best to do to protect their property. Whether your property has had a flooding problem, or you just want the information to prevent one, a Drainage Review is a very good way to start.
During a Review
A drainage review is a comprehensive evaluation of everything having to do with drainage and your property performed personally by the City’s stormwater engineer. Topics discussed include where the water comes from, how it gets there, how flood protection works, and most importantly what can be done to alleviate your property’s problems.
Drainage reviews are entirely free of charge, available to all City residents, and can be scheduled by calling 630-260-2870.
*** COVID19 Drainage Review Communication ***
All private property Drainage Review meetings are currently being scheduled for entirely outdoor meetings only. While interior flooding concerns can be discussed during the outdoor meeting, Engineering staff will not be entering structures at this time.
