Requirements
- Must be 14–20 years old.
- Must be enrolled in a qualifying high school/college program or provide proof of part-time employment.
- Maintain a “C” average, while enrolled with the Post.
- Submit a formal application, and complete & pass a background check.
- Attend at least 75% of the Post’s meetings annually.
- Abide by all DuPage Metro Police Explorer Post #644 Policies & Procedures.
Meetings & Training
Meetings are held twice a month on Monday evenings.
Trainings include, but are not limited to the following topics:
- Traffic Stops
- Crime Prevention
- Arrest Procedure
- Criminal Law
- Domestic Violence
- Evidence Collection
- Building Searches
- Ride-Along Opportunities
Community Service
During community events, Explorers are immersed in real-time learning and experience while working alongside our Law Enforcement Officers. The hours of community service provided by our Explorers are logged and can be utilized in scholarship applications!
