How to Register as a Contractor in the City of Wheaton

To register as a Contractor, please use the following link to get to the registration page:

Registration Steps while on the Mainstar Portal

  1. Select Contractor Registration.
    You will need a User Account with the City of Wheaton to register as a contractor. If you already have an online User Account, please select “Sign In” at the bottom of the page. If you need to create an account, please select “Create New Account” and provide the requested information.
  2. Once you have signed in, you need to once again select “Contractor Registration”.
  3. This will take you to the Contractor Registration page. To begin your application, select “Apply Now”.
    There is an information page that will let you know what you will need to register based on the trade that you wish to register as. Please check out the following link to see these requirements on the City of Wheaton Website. https://www.wheaton.il.us/890/Contractor-Registration-Requirements
  4. Select your “Contractor Type” from the drop-down list. If you do not see your trade listed, please select “General Contractor”. Select “Next” at the bottom of the page to continue.
  5. Please fill out the requested information on the Information page. All required fields must be filled in. Once complete, select “Next” at the bottom of the page to continue.
    If you are registering for a trade that requires licenses, etc., to be on file (such as for plumbing, electrical, and roofing contractors), please see the requirement link above and be sure to include all of the additional information in the appropriate fields.
  6. On the “Summary” page, please review all of the information shown. If anything is missing or incorrect, please click the “Previous” button to go back and correct any errors or omissions. If everything is good, please select “Submit”.
    If you do not receive an email response within a minute or so, please check your Spam folder.

    After following these instructions, if you have any questions regarding this process, please contact the Building Department at (630) 260-2050 during normal business hours. Be sure to have your User Account information available in the event staff needs to assist you by viewing your screen while you are in the account.
