Shared Cost Parkway Tree Planting Program

Shared Cost Parkway Tree Planting Program Opens in new windowThe City of Wheaton offers an annual Shared Cost Parkway Tree Planting Program, which allows homeowners to have a new tree planted in the parkway adjacent to their property at a shared cost.

This year’s Shared Cost Parkway Tree Planting Program will be a part of the America 250 celebration, planting 250 trees to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. Each tree will come with a commemorative tree medallion that will be attached for the life of the tree. The City’s Forestry Division is now accepting applications for this program. To participate, submit an application to the City's Forestry Division.

This program is open for sign-ups from January 26, 2026, to March 15, 2026, or until allocated funds are met.

Applications can either be mailed to City Hall at:
303 W. Wesley Street
P.O. Box 727
Wheaton, IL. 60187
or dropped off at the Finance Department at City Hall.

Qualified homeowners can select from up to 12 species of trees at a cost of $120 per tree. The City’s Forestry Division will plant the trees in the spring, weather permitting.
