Wheaton’s City Council is comprised of six representatives and the mayor, all who are elected by Wheaton voters for four-year terms. Four Council members represent Wheaton’s four voting districts (PDF), while two members and the mayor are elected at-large. The non-partisan City Council exercises policy-making and legislative powers of the City, including adopting ordinances and resolutions, approving the City’s annual budget and enacting tax levies.
City Council members conduct Coffee with Council sessions at 10 a.m. generally on the first Saturday of each month. Residents are invited to attend these informal sessions to discuss any item of interest with the Council. Consult the calendar for specific dates.
