[ARCHIVED] Fire Department Responds to Structure Fire on Blanchard Street

At 6:11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, the Wheaton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 100 block of S. Blanchard St. Upon arrival, crews identified a fully involved detached garage fire with two cars inside.  

Firefighters brought the fire under control within 15 minutes and protected the neighboring structures. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and damage estimates are unavailable at this time. The City of Wheaton Building Department was called to the scene. The Wheaton Fire Department was also assisted by Wheaton Police Department and several fire departments from neighboring communities.  

The property was turned over to the homeowner.
