UPDATE - 10:25 P.M. - The Wheaton Police Department has an individual in custody, and the isolated incident on Kensington Circle has been resolved peacefully. Residents in the TGM Danada apartments on Kensington Circle do not need to shelter in place any longer, and residents can return to this area.
There is no threat to the community, and the police presence in this area will be decreasing. The investigation of this incident is ongoing, and Wheaton Police will release further information once they are able to do so.

Police are responding to a barricaded subject in an isolated incident. There is no confirmed threat to the public, however police continue to ask residents in this immediate area to stay in their homes to ensure safety while police respond to this incident. ORIGINAL INFORMATION - 6:30 P.M.: There is currently a heavy police presence in the area of Kensington Circle, where the Wheaton Police Department is responding to an isolated incident. The Wheaton Police Department is asking residents in the TGM Danada Apartments, located on Kensington Circle, to temporarily shelter in place while officers respond to this incident on Kensington Circle. Other residents should avoid the area while officers are responding to this incident.
