Before the start of Monday's City Council meeting, current Mayor Philip Suess, current At-Large City Councilwoman Erica Bray-Parker and incoming At-Large City Councilman Bradley Clousing will be sworn into office to serve four-year terms on the Wheaton City Council. Wheaton voters selected these candidates in the April 4 Consolidated Election, and each will be sworn in on May 1.
The community is invited to meet your Mayor and At-Large City Council members during a reception from 6-6:45 p.m. in the Gamon Room of City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., and attend the swearing-in ceremony at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
This will be Philip Suess's second term as Mayor. Prior to becoming Mayor, he served as the North District City Council representative for 14 years. This will be Erica Bray-Parker's second term as City Councilwoman At-Large. Bradley Clousing will begin a first term on the Wheaton City Council.
The Wheaton City Council is comprised of seven members, including: Mayor; two At-Large members, who are elected to represent the entire community; and four District members, one for each of the City's four districts. The two At-Large seats and the position of Mayor were up for election this year, and the four District seats will be up for election in 2025.
