This drive-through event allows you to remain in your vehicle. Just follow the marked lanes and directional signs as you enter and exit the parking lot at the Wheaton Police Department, located at 900 W. Liberty Drive.
Accepted medications include:
- Prescription medications
- Pet medications
- Vitamins
Restricted items:
- Liquids/Creams

Why is it important to safely dispose of unused drugs?
Disposing of medications down a sink drain or flushing them down the toilet can contaminate groundwater, streams and lakes, and could harm people, wildlife and vegetation. Medications tossed in the trash could accidentally poison young children and animals. This event also helps rid homes of unused prescription drugs, which might be misused or abused by children, teens and young adults. Medicine collected through this event will be securely disposed of in an environmentally safe manner.
