At 1:26 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, Wheaton Police Officers responded to the 600 block of north Scott Street for a report of a criminal trespass to a residence. The caller advised she awoke from a noise in her bedroom and observed a subject in her room. The subject subsequently fled the room and exited the home. The subject was described as a black male with braided hair, wearing dark-colored clothing.
At approximately 7:15 a.m. also on Thursday, Dec. 15, a resident reported that while she was out for a morning run, she observed a subject running directly behind her. She first observed the subject while she was westbound on Prairie Avenue approaching Main Street, and he continued to follow her into the 1100 block of north Main Street. She later observed the same subject standing on the driveway of her residence. The subject fled the area prior to police arrival. He was described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
The Wheaton Police Department is actively investigating both incidents and is requesting residents in these areas check any home surveillance footage around the times of these occurrences.
