At approximately 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022, the Wheaton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire in the 200 block of South Morgan Avenue.
The occupants were not home at the time of the fire. Firefighters brought the fire under control within 20 minutes. One firefighter suffered a minor injury but did not require transport.
The cause of the fire is being investigated but does not appear to be suspicious in nature. Damage estimates are unavailable at this time.
The Wheaton Fire Department was assisted on the scene by multiple fire departments from neighboring communities and the Wheaton Police Department.
