Fire Department Notice

At approximately 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, the Wheaton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 1600 block of Timber Trail. Upon arrival, crews identified a fire at a multi-family townhome that affected multiple units.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within 20 minutes. Occupants escaped the units safely and without injury.

The cause of the fire continues to be investigated but does not appear to be suspicious in nature. Damage estimates are unavailable at this time. The City of Wheaton Building Department was called to the scene. The Wheaton Fire Department was also assisted on the scene by several fire departments from neighboring communities.

The building was deemed uninhabitable at this time by the Building Department.
