On October 1 each year, people around the world celebrate International Music Day to unite people and cultures. Here in Wheaton, you can celebrate with programs presented by Wheaton’s Fine and Cultural Arts Commission, who will present free performances at the Memorial Park Bandshell from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1.
Performances will include local groups Sounds Good, The Wheaton Park District’s Silvertones, and Acappellago.
Acappellago, founded in 2002, is an a capella chamber choir performing in the western suburbs of Chicago. Their performances have included Chicago Composer’s Forum’s first John Cage’s “Musicircus” in September 2005, and singing the Star-Spangled Banner for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bandits, Chicago Fire, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Steel, Kane County Cougars, and Schaumburg Boomers.
