[ARCHIVED] Road Closure: 2022 Light The Torch 5K Run

The Wheaton Park District will host the FT Cares Foundation Light the Torch Run 5K on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and concluding at approximately 9:00 p.m.

During this event, the Wheaton Police Department will temporarily close:

  • Illinois Street - between Reber St and Washington St;
  • Reber Street - between Liberty Dr and Illinois St;
  • Willow Avenue - between Reber St and Washington Street;
  • Naperville Road - between Liberty Dr and Indiana St;
  • Washington Street - between Liberty Dr and Roosevelt Rd;
  • Evergreen Street - between Washington St and Blanchard St;
  • Blanchard Street - between Liberty Dr and Evergreen St;
  • Williston Street - between Crescent St and Liberty Dr;
  • President Street - between College Ave and Crescent St;
  • Crescent Street - between Chase St and Williston St;
  • Chase Street - between Crescent St and Evergreen St;
  • Indiana Street - between Washington St and Chase St.

Streets will be staffed with uniformed Police Officers to assist and direct traffic. Residents, citizens, and motorists are being asked for their cooperation in not moving the barricades to ensure the safety of the runners. Motorists are advised to choose alternate travel routes to avoid traffic delays.
