City Council Meeting Update

The Wheaton City Council will consider Zoning Application #22-18 to construct a car wash at 311 E. Loop Road, the former Cozymel's restaurant site, at its Sept. 19, 2022 meeting. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St. and will be live-streamed through Zoom and recorded. You can see the meeting agenda, application and accompanying information on the City's website. The agenda also includes the Zoom login information to attend online or by phone.

ORIGINAL INFORMATION SENT SEPT. 1, 2022:

The City Council’s consideration of Zoning Application #22-18 to construct a car wash at 311 E. Loop Road, the former Cozymel’s restaurant site, has been deferred to a future City Council Meeting. City staff has requested additional time to thoroughly review the application in light of area traffic before the City Council formally considers the special use permit application.

We will send out a future update once the City determines the City Council meeting date at which it will be discussed.

This project was previously discussed at a Planning & Zoning Board public hearing and two Planning & Zoning Board meetings in August, and the next step will be for it to be presented to the City Council for formal consideration. Members of the community have expressed interest in sharing their input with the City Council, so we are sharing this notice to inform individuals interested in this project that it will not be on the agenda or discussed by the City Council at the Sept. 6 City Council meeting.
