The American Legion Post 76 will host a Memorial Day Parade on May 30, 2022, in Wheaton. The parade will start at 10 a.m. at the corner of Hale Street and Wesley Street and proceed west on Wesley Street to West Street then south on West Street to Wheaton Cemetery where a ceremony will take place at 11 a.m.
All veteran, youth groups, business, schools, bands and city entities are welcome to join the parade. If a group wishes to participate, arrive at Wheaton Memorial Park, the intersection of West Union Avenue and North Hale Street, by 9:30 a.m. on May 30 and check in with the members of the American Legion Parade Committee. They will be wearing red ball caps and will be located at the southeast corner of the park. No registration is required to participate in the parade. Cars cannot be driven into the park area unless the vehicle or float is participating in the parade. Parade participants must be dropped off outside the park area.
Political, lifestyle, or advertisement of product is not allowed during the parade. There will not be any distribution of any materials, handouts or candy during the parade or ceremony. This event is a memorial to those that have given their life in service to our country.
