[ARCHIVED] Snow Update: January 23

Snow update

City of Wheaton Public Works crews have been out overnight clearing the approximately 3-4 inches of snow our area received overnight Saturday, Jan. 22. Crews will continue clearing Wheaton's 163 miles of streets today following the City's prioritized route system, which starts with main thoroughfares, high-traffic areas and potentially dangerous areas such as railroad crossings and bridges. Please drive safely and give yourself extra room while crews work to clear all streets.

Please do not park on the street so that crews can safely clear streets to the curb, and do not blow snow into the street. If you use a snow contractor, remind them that it is against City Code to push/blow snow into the street or onto the opposite parkway. We appreciate your help so that we can clear streets as quickly and safely as possible.

If you have a fire hydrant near your property, we would appreciate if you could help keep it clear of snow.

For more information on how the City clears streets, see our snow removal information on the City's website.
