The Wheaton Park District will host the FT Cares Foundation Light the Torch Run 5K on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and concluding at approximately 8:00 p.m.
During this event, the Wheaton Police Department will temporarily close:
- Reber Street - Between Liberty Drive and Illinois Street
- Willow Avenue - Between Cross Street and Chase Street
- Illinois Street - Between Cross Street and Chase Street
- Indiana Street - Between Washington Street and Chase Street
- Evergreen Street - Between Washington Street and Blanchard Street
- Blanchard Street - Between Roosevelt Road and Liberty Drive
- Williston Street - Between Liberty Drive and Harwarden Street
- Harwarden Street - Between Williston Street and Kellogg Place
- Kellogg Place - Between Harwarden Street and Crescent Street
- Crescent Street - Between Williston Street and Chase Street
- President Street - At Evergreen Street
- President Street - Between Crescent Street and College Avenue
- Chase Street - Between Roosevelt Road and Crescent Street
- Washington Street - Between Roosevelt Road and Willow Avenue
- Naperville Road - Between Indiana Street and Willow Avenue
- Washington Street - Between Roosevelt Road and Willow Avenue
- E. Liberty Drive/S. Williston Street - Between Blanchard Street and Harwarden Street
Streets will be staffed with uniformed Police Officers to assist and direct traffic. Residents, citizens, and motorists are being asked for their cooperation in not moving the barricades to ensure the safety of the runners. Motorists are advised to choose alternate travel routes to avoid traffic delays.
