[ARCHIVED] Main Street Traffic Signals in Downtown Area Set to be Shut Off

Streetscape - Lights

The traffic signals at the intersection of Main Street and Liberty Drive and the intersection of Main Street and Front Street will be shut off beginning Tuesday, Sept. 7 and temporarily replaced with stop signs.

Construction crews with the City’s contractor, A Lamp, will be temporarily shutting off and replacing the traffic signals at Main Street and Liberty Drive as part of the City’s Downtown Streetscape Project. These traffic signals are connected to the signals at Main Street and Front Street which will need to be disabled as well.

Both intersections will be controlled by 4-way stop signs in all directions for approximately 2 weeks while contractors work to replace the traffic signals.

The City reminds drivers to practice safety when traveling between the two intersections and to never stop on the railroad tracks.
