The Wheaton Park District's 2021 5K/10K Run for the Animals will start at 7 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021. The City has provided a map of road closures for the event.
The following roads temporarily closed until 10 a.m. are:
- Main Street - between Seminary Avenue and Wakeman Avenue;
- Seminary/College Avenue - between Main Street and Howard Street;
- University Place – between Howard Street and Webster Avenue;
- Webster Avenue - between University Place and North Path;
- North Path - between Cherry Street and Webster Avenue;
- Cherry Street – between Harrison Avenue and North Path;
- Harrison Avenue - between Howard Street and Cherry Street;
- Howard Street - between Harrison Avenue and Forest Avenue;
- Forest Avenue - between Howard Street and Webster Avenue;
- Webster Avenue - between Forest Avenue and Cadillac Drive;
- Wakeman Drive - between Main Street and Santa Rosa Avenue;
- Cadillac Drive – between Santa Rosa Avenue and Webster Avenue;
- Santa Rosa Avenue – between Cadillac Avenue and Wakeman Drive.
During this time, these streets will be staffed with uniformed Police Officers to assist and direct traffic.
Residents, citizens and motorists are being asked for their cooperation in not moving the barricades to ensure the safety of the runners.
Motorists may experience temporary traffic delays and may choose to alter their travel route to avoid these areas.
