The City of Wheaton in association with e-Works will offer its monthly electronic recycling drop-off event this Saturday, July 11, with new safeguards in place to protect volunteers, staff and residents dropping off items. It will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Public Works Storage Yard, 820 W. Liberty (near the Wheaton Police Department).
Accepted items include electronics, scrap metals, textiles, fluorescent bulbs and cooking oil. Please be patient with staff and volunteers as they adjust to the new changes. All staff will be wearing a mask or face covering and gloves, and participants are asked to stay in their vehicles after entering the event. Please see the City’s website for full instructions and for how to pre-pay for recycling TVs and monitors.
