In response to the declaration of a disaster for the State of Illinois for the civil unrest that occurred on May 26 through June 8, 2020, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering federal assistance in the form of low-interest loans to affected businesses, private non-profit organizations, homeowners, and renters in DuPage County.

In a recent press release, the SBA provided details on how applicants who experienced property damage and/or economic injury as a result of the civil unrest can apply online using the Electronic Loan Application (ELA) via the SBA’s secure website. The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is August 4, 2020, and the deadline to return economic injury applications is March 23, 2021.

For additional information about the loan program please visit the U.S. Small Business Administration’s website.
