[ARCHIVED] Planned Protest March Concludes

police general photo

The planned protest march that began at 1:30 p.m. today at the plaza near Front Street & Main Street has concluded, and this peaceful event occurred without incident. The protest travelled along a planned route through the downtown before concluding back at the plaza by approximately 2:15 p.m.

The City of Wheaton and the Wheaton Police Department respect the right of people to assemble peacefully. The participants met the City’s expectation for a peaceful gathering. Wheaton Police had been in contact with organizers before the event and provided a presence at the event to ensure everyone’s safety.

We appreciate the cooperation of participants in helping ensure this was a peaceful gathering.
