police general photo

The planned protest along Roosevelt Road from Main Street in Wheaton to Main Street in Glen Ellyn has concluded, and this peaceful event occurred without incident.

The City of Wheaton and the Wheaton Police Department respect the right of people to assemble peacefully. The participants met the City’s expectation for a peaceful gathering.

The Wheaton and Glen Ellyn Police Departments had been in contact with organizers before the event and provided a presence at the event to ensure everyone’s safety.

We appreciate the cooperation of participants in helping ensure this was a peaceful gathering. We also appreciate the patience and understanding of the businesses and motorists in the area of the protest.

Thank you for following the official City of Wheaton source for community information.
