UPDATE 1:07 p.m. 3/5/20: Crews have reopened Main Street traffic in the block between Front Street and Wesley Street. There had been a previous detour in place so that crews could safely complete underground water main work.

Crews working on underground infrastructure as part of the Downtown Streetscape Project will need to temporarily close traffic lanes for the block of Main Street between Front Street and Wesley Street for a portion of the day Thursday, March 5, starting at 6 a.m. During this work, traffic will remain open on Front Street, but temporary detours will be in place around this block of Main Street, with traffic lights at Liberty and Main flashing red during this time.
Businesses along Main Street and Front Street will remain open and will be fully accessible to pedestrians. This work will not affect the sidewalks or entrances to businesses.
Crews will reopen Main Street to traffic as soon as they are able to complete this underground work. Thank you for patience during this temporary closure.
