In March, the City will share with the community an updated draft of the Roosevelt Road Corridor Plan, providing opportunities for the community to read the updated plan and provide feedback at two open houses. This project’s goal is to provide Wheaton with specific direction for future development along Roosevelt Road from Carlton Avenue to the Wheaton/Glen Ellyn border.
In 2018, the City of Wheaton selected Camiros Ltd. and Valerie Kretchmer & Associates to prepare a comprehensive plan, market study and zoning ordinance update for this portion of Roosevelt Road. Based on feedback from the City Council and the community, the City retained Camiros Ltd. to further update the plan, ensuring the plan incorporates the desires of the community with additional opportunities for public input.
“The new opportunities for review and participation will result in a more comprehensive process that incorporates more input from the community and the City Council,” said City of Wheaton Director of Planning James Kozik. “In the end, we want a plan that reflects a shared vision of what is best for the community going forward, and we value this important feedback.”
Once it is available, the City will post the draft plan at www.wheaton.il.us/rooseveltroad. The City will host open houses for the community regarding this plan in April.
