As temperatures have fluctuated below and above freezing, our area has been experiencing significant icing, especially during overnight and early morning hours. The City’s Public Works crews have been salting Wheaton roads overnight, and daytime crews are applying another application this morning. As temperatures rise and rain subsides, road conditions are expected to continue improving.
Drivers and pedestrians should continue to use caution, as this is an ongoing icing event with pavement temperatures at or just above freezing. Driveways, parking lots and sidewalks may continue to be icy. Please do not follow plows closely to allow them to safely treat roads.
