Cook County Man Charged with Robbing Wheaton Sprint Store

Bond has been denied for a Calumet City man accused of stealing approximately $40,000 worth of merchandise from a Wheaton Sprint store on Nov. 8. The Wheaton Police Department’s investigation led to the arrest of Denzel Furnace, who was charged with armed robbery and three counts of aggravated unlawful restraint. Fire Department Responds to Apartment Fire

At approximately 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019 the Wheaton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the apartment building at 121 North Cross. This incident appears to have been caused by a clothes dryer, and no one was injured. More information is available on the City’s website.


Second Budget Workshop This Saturday

If you would like to learn about the City’s proposed 2020 budget, you can attend the City’s second Budget Workshop Session at 8 a.m. this Saturday, Nov. 16, at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W Wesley Street. City staff and the City Council will be discussing and reviewing the proposed City budget for the upcoming year. This workshop will also be recorded and will be available on the City’s website.
