Free Auto Inspections for Seniors on Saturday
Seniors can take advantage of a free auto inspection from 9 a.m.-noon this Saturday, Oct. 6, at Fire Station 1, 1 Fapp Circle. The free annual auto inspection for Milton Township seniors is sponsored by the Milton Township SALT (Seniors and Lawmen Together) Council, and supported by AAA Wheaton Car Care Plus, Renfro Auto Center, Autumn Leaves of Glen Ellyn and Travanse Living of Wheaton. Certified mechanics and volunteers will check your car’s safety and make recommendations for the winter months ahead. For more information, call Milton Township at 630-668-1616. Cars are inspected on a first come, first served basis. Coffee and cookies will be provided while you wait.
Note Temporary Location for Oct. 13 Electronic Recycling
Due to construction in the City’s Public Works Storage Yard, the Oct. 13 Electronic Recycling drop-off will take place in Commuter Lot 9, located near the intersection of Carlton and Liberty Drive, from 9 a.m. to noon. This collection will be for electronics only. No cooking oil, scrap metal or fluorescent tube bulbs can be collected at this location. Please note that there is a charge to recycle TVs and monitors.
Early Voting Now Open for Nov. 6 Election
DuPage County opened early voting for the Nov. 6 General Election at the DuPage County Election Commission Office at 421 N County Farm Road, Wheaton. Additional early voting locations will be open Oct. 22 through Nov. 5. If you need to update your name or address, you can update your voter’s registration by Tuesday, Oct. 9 or use grace period voting and registration. For information, visit the DuPage County website.

Entries Accepted for Wheaton Christmas Parade
The Downtown Wheaton Association is now accepting entries for the annual Christmas Parade, which will take place on Friday, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m. in Downtown Wheaton. Local businesses, community groups and non-profits are encouraged to participate. The deadline for entries is Friday, Oct. 26. Secure your space in the parade!
