City Seeks Police Officer Applicants
The Wheaton Police Department is recruiting entry-level police officers. Orientation and testing will be held on Oct. 21. Public Meeting for East Roosevelt Road Study
Looking to improve the quality and character of development along east Roosevelt Road extending from Carlton Avenue on the west to the City’s eastern boundary with the Village of Glen Ellyn, the City of Wheaton is currently working with the Planning Consulting firm of Camiros, Ltd. to prepare a comprehensive plan, market study and zoning ordinance update for this corridor. As part of this process, the City invites property owners and residents to attend an existing conditions workshop hosted by the Planning & Zoning Board at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, in the Council Chambers of Wheaton City Hall, 303 W Wesley Street. Car Burglaries at Wheaton Parks
The Wheaton Police Department has taken several reports of burglaries to motor vehicles in the past 2 weeks at Northside Park and Rathje Park. In these instances, the vehicles' windows were shattered and valuables removed from the unattended vehicles. The Wheaton Police Department is investigating these burglaries. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is encouraged to contact Lieutenant Bill Cooley at 630-260-2077.

- Park vehicles in a conspicuous/public location.
- Roll up windows and secure vehicles.
- Avoid leaving valuables visible in vehicles.
- Call 9-1-1 to report suspicious persons and behaviors.
Library Card Sign-up Month
Wheaton Public Library is celebrating Library Card Sign-up Month with the Incredibles! Pick up a brochure in the library or Wheaton Chamber of Commerce office for a list of local businesses that will offer a discount or gift for presenting your WPL card. Visit the library and go on a scavenger hunt to find Incredibles characters throughout the building for your chance to win a prize! All new library card sign-ups in September will have a chance to win a prize, and ALL ages can get a card. Stop by the Circulation Desk for details.
