Take Survey or Attend Meetings about Adams Park

As the City seeks to address accessibility needs, preserve Adams Park's character and develop a landscape plan, the City of Wheaton encourages you to take a survey to gather your feedback about the park. You can take the short online survey or attend public feedback meetings at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, May 24 at Wheaton City Hall. For more information, see the City’s website.

Thanks for Your Support!

The Wheaton Police Department extends a big thank you to all of the community members who came out to support the Cop on a Rooftop event last Friday. Thanks to your support, the Wheaton Police Department was able to raise more than $3,200 for Special Olympics Illinois. The Wheaton Police Department participated along with police departments across the state in this annual event, which places police officers on the rooftops of Dunkin’ Donuts locations and accepts donations for Special Olympics Illinois.

Note New Route for Memorial Day Parade

The 2018 Memorial Day Parade is Monday, May 28, 2018, beginning at 10 a.m. Due to construction taking place on part of the usual parade route, the parade is scheduled to step off from Memorial Park and proceed:

  • South on Hale Street to Wesley Street.
  • West on Wesley Street to Wheaton Avenue.
  • South on Wheaton Avenue to Liberty Drive.
  • East on Liberty Drive to Main Street.
  • South on Main Street to Elm Street.
  • West on Elm Street to Warrenville Road.
  • South on Warrenville Road to the Wheaton Cemetery.

Garbage Pickup Delayed Due to Holiday

Due to the Memorial Day holiday, there will be no garbage/recycling/yard waste pickup on Monday, May 28. All pickups will be one day later for the week of May 28-June 1.


City Offices Closed

Non-emergency City of Wheaton offices will be closed on Monday, May 28. They will reopen on Tuesday, May 29.


Children Invited to Find Hidden Golf Balls

Wheaton’s Fine and Cultural Arts Commission will be hiding 100 golf balls throughout Memorial Park during the Taste of Wheaton in honor of the first-ever Senior Women’s Open at Chicago Golf. Kids are invited to find a golf ball and bring it to the USGA booth at the Taste of Wheaton for a prize. (Limit one ball per child.) More details about Wheaton’s “Summer of Golf” and related events are at www.wheaton.il.us/golf2018.


Taste of Wheaton Arrives May 31

Wheaton’s annual festival to kick off summer is almost here! Get ready for the Taste of Wheaton, which will take place May 31 through June 3 in Memorial Park and downtown Wheaton. This community favorite includes food from many vendors, carnival rides, entertainment, beer & wine garden, business expo and much more.
