Nominate Someone for a Good Citizens Award

Do you know someone who you think deserves to be recognized for his or her service in the community? Nominate a person or group for Wheaton’s 2018 Good Citizens Award. These annual awards are presented by the City's Community Relations Commission.

Nicor Performing Work in Wheaton

Nicor Gas and contractor NPL will be modernizing the system that delivers natural gas safely and reliably to some Wheaton neighborhoods this Spring. The Nicor Gas System Improvement initiative is a multi-year initiative to modernize aging natural gas infrastructure.  Major steps involved in the project may include sewer inspections, identifying new meter locations and utilities, installing natural gas main and natural gas lines, connecting the system and restoring landscaping and pavement. Workshops to Discuss City Budget

If you would like to learn about the City’s proposed Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget, attend the City’s Budget Workshop Sessions, which will take place:

  • 9 a.m. Saturday, March 10
  • 7 p.m. Monday, March 12
  • 9 a.m. Saturday, March 17

During the sessions, which will take place in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 303 W Wesley Street, City staff and the City Council will discuss and review the proposed City budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Take Impact DuPage’s Community Survey

Impact DuPage is a group of community leaders and organizations working together to understand the needs and priorities of DuPage County residents. As part of the Impact DuPage 2018 Community Assessment, they are conducting a survey that asks about community themes and strengths that are important to the individuals in DuPage County.

Downtown Streetscape Update

The City of Wheaton has selected a contractor to begin work on Front Street this spring. The streetscape project includes work along Front Street from West to Cross Street and will feature an entirely new street with wider sidewalks, new lighting, benches, and a new Memorial Plaza. The improvements will begin in late March/early April, dependent on weather conditions. To learn more about the City of Wheaton downtown streetscape project, visit www.wheaton.il.us/downtownstreetscape.
