City Recognizes Life-Saving Actions by Wheaton Fire Department

While the members of Wheaton’s Fire Department routinely train for challenging rescues and extraordinarily dangerous situations, it’s not routine when they get a call that puts these skills to use. At its Feb. 20, 2018 meeting, the Wheaton City Council recognized the exemplary actions of Wheaton Fire Department members in two separate high-risk operations. A recent incident in which a suspect posed as a City employee to gain access to a home has the City’s Police Department wanting you to see this video. Watch the latest edition of City Scene to find out how you can identify City employees, legitimate situations in which a City employee may need to come inside your home, and what you can do to ensure you are not scammed.

Fire Department Extinguishes House Fire

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, the Wheaton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Danada Drive. More information about this incident is available on the City’s website.

Commission Seeks Applicants

Interested in helping promote community involvement and volunteering? The City's Community Relations Commission is looking for residents interested in serving on the commission. This group leads the City's Good Citizen Awards program, helps organize Wheaton's Make a Difference Day activities and more. If you are interested, fill out an application and submit it to the City Clerk.
