Countywide Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan Open House Tomorrow

The Village of Lisle will host a public open House to present the draft countywide Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan on Thursday, Jan. 11 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lisle Village Hall, 925 Burlington Avenue. The Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan helps community leaders recognize and evaluate the types of natural hazards that impact DuPage County, including floods, severe winter storms and extreme heat. This informal gathering will allow the community to provide comments on the draft plan and speak with Village staff. For more information, see the City’s website.

Applications Available for Housing Assistance Program

Wheaton’s Housing Commission is now accepting applications for its Senior Housing Assistance Program, through which Wheaton seniors 65 and older could receive financial assistance to help defray housing costs. The maximum annual household income for acceptance into this program is $25,800. For more information or to fill out an application, see the City’s website.

Snow Reminder: Clear the Way for Snow Plows

Cars parked on the street are a problem for snow plows, as crews are not able to clear an area where a car is parked. Because of this, after 2 inches of accumulated snowfall, parking is prohibited on any street for 24 hours or until streets have been cleared. For other important snow reminders, see this quick video.
