Enjoy Visits with Santa & Free Carriage Rides

'Tis the season for holiday fun in downtown Wheaton. Enjoy free horse-drawn carriage rides and visits with Santa each Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. through December 23 in Martin Memorial Plaza, 134 W Front Street. Also, check out these special events happening this Saturday at the Living Wheaton Christmas Festival.

Join Wheaton in Kicking Off Illinois Bicentennial

Wheaton’s Historic Commission encourages the community to take part in a ceremony to kick off the state’s yearlong celebration of its 200th birthday. At noon on Monday, Dec. 4, communities throughout the state will host a simultaneous flag-raising ceremony at their main municipal building. Wheaton will raise the flag in front of City Hall, 303 W. Wesley. Join the City in kicking off the state’s celebration.

Wheaton Fire Department Responds to Train Station Fire

At approximately 10:50 p.m. on Nov. 22, 2017, the Wheaton Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at the Wheaton Train Station located at 402 W Front Street. Read more about this incident on the City’s website.

Road Closures: Reindeer Run on Dec. 2

The Wheaton Lions Club/Wheaton Park District 5K Reindeer Run will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Note the following roads will be closed.

Holiday Light Recycling Now Available

The City's holiday light recycling drop-off program is now available. Bring strands of holiday lights for recycling to the Public Works Storage Facility at 820 W. Liberty Drive any time between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. More information

The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County is currently working on a master plan to guide their efforts over the next five years and wants your feedback. You can share your opinions through this online survey, which will be open through Dec. 10. You can also submit written comments to master-plan@dupageforest.org.
