Crews Repainting Fire HydrantsTo keep hydrants in good condition, some of the City's hydrants are repainted each year. The process involves sandblasting the hydrants, applying white primer, and finishing by repainting them yellow. If you see white hydrants, they're getting ready for a new coat of yellow paint and will be back to normal soon. This year's work area includes 250 hydrants generally on the southwest side of Wheaton. This work is expected to be completed within the next few weeks.
