Meet Wheaton Police and Support Special Olympics Illinois During Cop on a Rooftop on May 16Join the Wheaton Police Department in supporting Special Olympics Illinois during the annual Cop on a Rooftop event on Friday, May 16, at two Dunkin’ locations: - 956 E. Roosevelt Road (Roosevelt & President)

Stop by between 5 a.m. and noon on Friday, May 16, to meet members of the Wheaton Police Department as they support the 24,000 athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. This is the 22nd year that law enforcement officers have partnered with Dunkin' to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Illinois, and this year they will have merchandise and coupons for free coffee and donuts to hand out for donations.

Wheaton Police Invite Community to Participate in Town Hall on May 29As the Wheaton Police Department continues its efforts to build positive relationships within the community, the department will launch a series of community engagement initiatives beginning with a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, May 29 at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 303 W. Wesley Street, in the City Council Chambers. Residents are encouraged to attend and learn about topics including highlights from the 2024 annual report, the department’s technology, modern policing, officer training, the role of social services, and community safety education. The Town Hall will include an interactive presentation by members of the Wheaton Police Department, followed by an opportunity for participants to ask questions. For individuals who are unable to attend in person, this event will also be shared live via Zoom, and the City will record the event. Lawn Watering Restrictions Begin May 15Lawn watering restrictions are effective May 15 through Sept. 15 in the City of Wheaton. These restrictions are in place to help minimize evaporation during the hottest time of the day. - If your address ends in an even number, you can only water your lawn on even-numbered days on the calendar.
- If your address ends in an odd number, you can only water your lawn on odd-numbered days on the calendar.
- No watering is allowed between the hours of noon and 6 p.m.

Learn About the Thomas Road Drainage Improvement ProjectThe City's Public Works Department is working on a storm sewer project in northeast Wheaton to improve drainage and prolong the life of the roadway in this area. The project area begins on Thomas Road at President Street and will end at Summit Street and Wendover Court. Crews will install approximately 2,000 feet of new 12-inch storm sewer, and replace related storm manholes and catch basins. Make Music Wheaton Returns June 21 — Sign Up to PerformMake Music Wheaton is back for 2025! The Fine and Cultural Arts Commission invites the community to participate in this annual celebration of music around the world on Saturday, June 21, 2025. The goal of this event is to generate a continuous soundscape of music for all to enjoy in a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces throughout downtown Wheaton. It is free and open to the public. Sign up to Perform: - Musicians of all skill levels, from amateur to professional, are encouraged to participate in the event. There is no audition process, and the event is open to performers of all ages and genres.
- Restaurants, businesses, and community organizations can also participate by offering their locale as a venue. The only requirements are that the performance space is open to the public and is free to attend.

IDOT Roosevelt Road Resurfacing ProjectThe Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has started work on its project to resurface Roosevelt Road (Illinois 38), from Pierce Avenue, in Wheaton, passing through Winfield, to Technology Boulevard, in West Chicago. The work anticipated to begin next week includes milling and patching work between Pierce Avenue and Winfield Road, which will require intermittent lane closures.
