Traffic Alert

Periodic Traffic Pattern Change on Main Street near Front Street through March 21

There are periodic lane shifts for both lanes of traffic on Main Street near the Front Street intersection now through March 21. This is necessary to safely accommodate large construction equipment for a commercial development construction project near this intersection. Both lanes of traffic are shifting east, which will affect several parking spots along Main Street. This may cause temporary traffic delays, and drivers may want to consider an alternate route. Please use caution when driving in this area.

Sidewalks

City Installing 2.5 Miles of New Sidewalks to Improve Safety and Accessibility

In the coming weeks, residents in some neighborhoods will see surveyors contracted by the City marking and measuring for the placement of new sidewalks. This is part of the multi-year New Sidewalk Program, which this year will add 2.5 miles of new sidewalks to make Wheaton's neighborhoods safer and more accessible for all. The City is working to create a complete network of sidewalks, with sidewalk on at least one side of each neighborhood street.

The list of streets included in this year's program is available on the City's website at www.wheaton.il.us/NewSidewalks.
