Temporary Road Closures for Reindeer Run 5K on Saturday, Dec. 7The Wheaton Park District and Lions Club Charities will host the 13th annual Lions Charities Reindeer Run 5K on Saturday, Dec. 7 starting at 8:30 a.m. The following streets will be temporarily closed (see a map of the closures) from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for this event: - Main Street between Front Street and Jefferson Avenue
- Jefferson Avenue between Main Street and Cross Street
- Cross Street between Jefferson Avenue and Prairie Avenue
- Prairie Avenue between Cross Street and Santa Rosa Avenue
- Santa Rosa Avenue between Forest Avenue and Cadillac Drive
- Cadillac Drive between Santa Rosa Avenue and Webster Avenue
- Webster Avenue between Cadillac Drive and Forest Avenue
- Forest Avenue between Irving Avenue and President Street
- Irving Avenue between Forest Avenue and Prairie Avenue
- Oak Avenue between Irving Avenue and Washington Street
- Washington Street between Prairie Avenue and Union Avenue
- Union Avenue between Scott Street and Washington Street
- Scott Street between Union Avenue and Wesley Street
- Wesley Street between Scott Street and Main Street
Residents, citizens, and motorists are being asked for their cooperation in not moving the barricades or cones to ensure the safety of the runners.

More Customer Parking Available for Holidays at Wheaton Place GarageTo ensure residents and visitors can enjoy holiday shopping, dining and more in the downtown, customer parking is available on all levels of the Wheaton Place Garage (232 W. Wesley St.) now through Monday, Dec. 30. Other available customer parking includes: - Ground floor of the Willow Avenue Garage, located at Willow and Cross Street (just south of the railroad tracks)
- Lot 2, on the south side of Wesley between Main and Hale Street
- On-street customer parking spots throughout the downtown
On nights and weekends, the City Hall parking lot at 303 W. Wesley St. is also available for customer parking.

City of Wheaton Budget Public Hearing to Take Place Monday, Dec. 9The City Council will discuss the proposed 2025 Annual Operating Budget during a Public Hearing, which is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. This meeting will take place in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St. This meeting is open to the public and will be recorded. The draft budget is now available on the City's website.

Recycle Your Cooking OilDid you know that you can drop off unused cooking oil at the City's monthly recycling events? Help keep oil out of our sewer system, where it can cause clogs and backups, and recycle it into biofuel. The next monthly recycling event will be Saturday, Dec. 14, 9 a.m.-noon at Wheaton's Public Works Storage Yard, 820 W. Liberty Drive. Find out more at www.wheaton.il.us/electronics. You can also bring cooking oil to Wheaton Sanitary District, 1S649 Shaffner Road, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Register for Light Up Wheaton Holiday ContestThe City of Wheaton and Wheaton Park District are proud to present the 5th annual Light Up Wheaton holiday decorating contest. Registration is open now through Dec. 12. Showcase your fun, creative, out-of-the-box outdoor decorating ideas in what has quickly become one of Wheaton’s favorite holiday traditions. All Wheaton residents, businesses, houses of worship and community organizations are invited to participate in this free, friendly competition — all themes and holidays welcome!
