Mosquito Spraying Planned This Evening

The Wheaton Mosquito Abatement District has notified the City of Wheaton that, weather permitting, its crews will spray for mosquitoes this evening. Applications are typically made from dusk until 2 a.m. To be notified by phone when future mosquito spraying will take place, call 1-800-942-2555.

The Wheaton Mosquito Abatement District is a separate entity from the City of Wheaton. The District covers 23 square miles and includes most of Wheaton as well as sections of Carol Stream, Glendale Heights and unincorporated Milton Township. Questions and comments about the District’s integrated mosquito management program should be directed to its service contractor, Clarke (www.clarke.com). Their mosquito hotline number is 1-800-942-2555.

Forestry Division Encourages Residents to Remove Netting from Trees

It's time to unwrap your trees. If you used netting to protect trees or plants from cicada damage, Wheaton's Forestry Division encourages you to remove the netting. Trees and plants are no longer at risk of damage from cicadas, and keeping the netting on much longer can cause damage to the health of trees. Thank you for your assistance.
