Extreme Heat this WeekExtreme heat is expected to continue in our area throughout the week, with the heat index in the upper 90s or potentially over 100 degrees. If you need a place to cool off, the Wheaton Public Library (225 N. Cross St.) and Milton Township Offices (1492 N. Main St.) serve as cooling centers during extreme heat. Please check on neighbors and individuals who may need assistance during this time, and take precautions to keep yourself and others safe. Heat emergency information is available on the City's website. This week, Pace Suburban Bus (Pace) advises riders to wait for buses in safe, cool areas. Fixed route and Paratransit riders should consider postponing non-essential travel. Use Bus Tracker (fixed route) and Trip Check (Paratransit) for real-time updates or to cancel reservations. Be cautious if you must travel: dress for the weather, avoid the sun, and stay hydrated.
