Attend the Wheaton Police Department's Town Hall Event Happening Today

The Wheaton Police Department invites the community to attend a town hall panel discussion where members of the Police Department and community partners from Community Unit School District 200, DuPage County Health Department and DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office will discuss a variety of topics affecting our community. The town hall will take place at 6:30 p.m. today at the Wheaton Park District Community Center, 1777 S. Blanchard St. For more information, please visit the City's website.

Join Public Works, Fire and Police Departments for Sandbag Challenge on Friday, June 7

Come cheer on Wheaton's Public Works, Fire and Police Departments at noon on Friday, June 7, as they practice emergency flood response skills with a hands-on Sandbag Challenge at the Public Works Storage Yard, 820 W. Liberty Drive. Teams of 8 will test their speed in filling sandbags and building a wall to hold back water. The team that builds their wall quickest will win the challenge.

Wheaton Municipal Band Concert Season Begins Tomorrow

The Wheaton Municipal Band is back for another summer of performances and kicks off their season on Thursday, June 6 at Memorial Park, 225 Karlskoga Ave. Every Thursday, through Aug.1, as weather permits, the band will hold a concert in the bandshell starting at 7:30 p.m. These events are free to attend, and all are welcome. Volunteer Recycling

Electronic Recycling this Saturday

Bring unwanted electronics to the monthly electronic recycling collection on Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Public Works Storage Yard, 820 W. Liberty Drive. This is a drive-through event where volunteers will help unload items from your car. There is a charge for all TVs and monitors at this event. For more information, see the City's website.

Community Relations Commission Commemorating 80th Anniversary of D-Day

To commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, the Community Relations Commission encourages residents to attend several events in June which honor this important day in history. Additionally, the commission has created profiles highlighting community members connected to D-Day and World War II. To view these profiles and find out more, visit the City's website.

Wheaton Police Neighborhood Roll Call Events Starting June 11

The Wheaton Police Department will bring back its popular Neighborhood Roll Call events throughout the summer starting on June 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Atten Park (southeast corner), 1720 S. Wiesbrook Road.

These family friendly outdoor community gatherings are designed to connect residents with the officers who serve them and share current safety information. In addition, officers will provide fun activities for children. The events are open to everyone in the community, and residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Wheaton North High School Student Named Winner of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for Illinois District 3

Congratulations to Wheaton North High School senior Emma Jack, winner of the 2024 Congressional Art Competition for Illinois District 3. Congresswoman Delia Ramirez recently honored Emma at a reception, joined by Mayor Suess and Wheaton North Art Teacher Danielle Wennmaker. Emma's painting, "My Gift to AI," was chosen to be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel in Washington D.C. for a year as part of the nationwide high school art competition, and Emma will travel to Washington D.C. for the awards banquet.

Wheaton Police Lieutenant Potter Graduated from Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command

Congratulations to Wheaton Police Department Lieutenant Patricia Potter on graduating from Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command in late May. The academically challenging 10-week program provided advanced instruction in strategic planning, management, leadership, organizational behavior and more. 

Continued education and development through this program are examples of the Wheaton Police Department’s commitment to ensuring Wheaton’s police force is well-developed, highly trained and ready to serve in any situation.
