Deadline to Apply for 2023 Citizen's Fire Academy TodayThe deadline to apply for the 2023 Citizen's Fire Academy is today! The Wheaton Fire Department invites you to participate in a hands-on learning experience that will have you gearing up in fire equipment and learning how your local fire department works. This is an 8-week course offered exclusively to Wheaton residents. The academy runs from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 6 through Oct. 25, 2023. To apply, visit the City's website.

Garbage Holiday Schedule and City Offices Closed on Monday, Sept. 4LRS will not collect garbage, yard waste or recycling on Monday, Sept. 4 due to the Labor Day holiday. All pickups for the week of Sept. 4 will be one day later than usual. Non-emergency City offices will also be closed on Monday, Sept. 4 in recognition of Labor Day.

Deadline Approaching for Festival of Cultures Program Cover ArtworkThe Wheaton Community Relations Commission invites local students to submit their original artwork to be showcased at the 2023 Festival of Cultures, which takes place on Sept. 17. The Commission will select one entry as the cover art of the Festival of Cultures program. The selected student artist will receive a $50 Visa gift card.
