Wheaton Police to Host Next Neighborhood Roll Call Event on Tuesday, June 20

Join the Wheaton Police Department for the next Neighborhood Roll Call event on Tuesday, June 20 starting at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church (300 E. Cole Avenue). These family friendly outdoor community gatherings are designed to connect residents with the officers who serve them and share current safety information. Temporary Road Closures for Vintage Rides Events this Summer

The Downtown Wheaton Association’s Vintage Rides events have returned on Liberty Drive. Temporary road closures and parking restrictions will occur from 4-9 p.m. on the following Tuesdays:

  • June 20, 27
  • July 11, 25
  • August 8, 22

During the event, Liberty Drive between Main and Hale and between Hale and Wheaton will be closed to traffic. In addition, parking will not be allowed on Liberty Drive from Main Street to Wheaton Avenue, including Lots 4 and 5 on the north side of Liberty Drive.

City of Wheaton has Begun Multi-Year Lead Service Line Replacement Program

The City of Wheaton has begun a multi-year infrastructure project to replace all water service lines made from lead, helping to ensure the best possible drinking water for everyone in our community. Not only is the City replacing any City-maintained water services that contain lead, but the City will extend this program to assist residents who have lead service lines on private property at no cost to these property owners. Celebrating Wheaton's Pop Stars

Hosted by the Downtown Wheaton Association and the DuPage County Historical Museum at the Wheaton Public Library, the Wheaton's Pop Stars presentation by Bob Goldsborough highlights the four notable Wheaton individuals chosen for the Warhol Pop Art Challenge. Portion of Manchester Road Closed for Wheaton Sanitary District Work

Manchester Road between Dorchester Avenue and Gables Boulevard is temporarily closed while the Wheaton Sanitary District installs a new sewer main as part of the Northside Interceptor Project. Work is expected to last through the end of next week. Drivers should use the following detour:

  • Westbound traffic will detour down Gables Boulevard to Childs Street to Woodlawn Street
  • Eastbound traffic will detour down Dorchester Avenue to Childs Street to Gables Boulevard

Reminder: Lawn Watering Restrictions Now through September 15

Restrictions on watering lawns are now in effect through September 15. Buildings and homes with an odd-numbered street address may water lawns and gardens only on days of the month having odd numbers. Buildings and homes with an even-numbered street address may water lawns and gardens only on days of the month having even numbers. No watering is allowed between the hours of noon and 6 p.m.

Citizens Fire Academy

Registration Now Open for 2023 Citizens Fire Academy

The Wheaton Fire Department invites you to participate in a hands-on learning experience that will have you gearing up in fire equipment and learning how your local fire department works.?The Citizens Fire Academy is an 8-week course offered exclusively to Wheaton residents. The academy runs from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 6 through Oct. 25, 2023. For more information, visit the City's website. To register, visit www.wheaton.il.us/FireAcademy.
