Warhol Fire Hydrant

Check Out Pop Art Fire Hydrants in Downtown Wheaton

In celebration of the Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop exhibition at the College of DuPage’s McAninch Arts Center, the City’s Fine & Cultural Arts Commission invited local artists to apply pop art style in painting 20 downtown fire hydrants. Each of these unusual works of art has a theme and a sponsor. The community is encouraged to head downtown to see this creative public art display. You can visit the City’s website at www.wheaton.il.us/FireHydrantArt for a downloadable map of the fire hydrant locations. Check out this video with artists from this project to learn more about it.
