Daytime Parking Restrictions on Wakeman Ave. during Road WorkStarting on Thursday, Aug. 4, the City’s Public Works Department will begin milling pavement on Wakeman Avenue from Main Street to President Street in preparation for placing new asphalt the following week. To complete this work, on-street parking will not be allowed on this section of Wakeman from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday until the project is complete. Weather permitting, crews estimate this work will be completed before the start of the school year on Aug. 17.
The City will be placing “temporary no parking” signs in this area where daytime parking will be prohibited. We appreciate your assistance in abiding by these restrictions, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause

Mosquito Spraying Planned for Thursday NightThe Wheaton Mosquito Abatement District has notified the City of Wheaton that, weather permitting, its crews will spray for mosquitoes during the evening of Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022. Applications are typically made from dusk until 2 a.m. To be notified by phone when future mosquito spraying will take place, call 1-800-942-2555.

Public Hearing Aug. 8 on Roosevelt Road Corridor Plan Final DraftThe City Council will hold a public hearing to collect feedback on the final draft of the Roosevelt Road Corridor Plan at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8 at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Temporary Street and Parking Lot Closures for Wheaton Art WalkThe Downtown Wheaton Association and Amdur Productions' Wheaton Art Walk will be held on Liberty Drive between Wheaton Avenue and Main Street this Saturday, Aug. 6, and Sunday Aug. 7, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Starting at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, Liberty Drive will be completely closed between Wheaton Avenue and Main Street, and northbound traffic on Hale Street will be closed at Liberty Drive. The roadways will reopen at 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 upon the completion of event cleanup. In addition, Municipal Lots #4 and #5 on Liberty Drive will be closed beginning at 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, and will reopen at 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7.
Road Closure for Wheaton Brew & Seltzer FestThe Wheaton Park District’s Brew and Seltzer Fest will be held at Memorial Park on Saturday, Aug. 6, from noon to 4 p.m. Karlskoga Avenue will be completely closed between Wheaton Avenue and North Hale Street from 11 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, until 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6. During this time, Karlskoga Avenue will be impassable to all motor vehicle traffic. Wheaton Police Officers will be conducting foot patrols of Memorial Park and will be monitoring the area.
