Wheaton Police Arrest Man in Relation to ‘Swatting’ Incident

As the result of an investigation into an Oct. 19 "swatting" incident that brought a response from multiple law enforcement agencies, Wheaton Police announce the arrest of a suspect. Read more about this incident.


City Announces Retirement of Longtime Engineering Director

Fire Department Extinguishes Building Fire

At approximately 12:15 p.m. yesterday, the Wheaton Fire Department responded to a structure fire in a commercial & apartment building in the 1000 block of College Avenue. The fire was brought under control within minutes, and the incident did not result in any injuries. 

Tool Allows Reporting of Railroad Crossing Blockages

A new online tool is available to report when a train is blocking a crossing to the Federal Railroad Administration. While there are no federal laws or regulations pertaining to blockages, this information is being used to learn where, when, for how long, and what impacts result from blockages. To report a blocked crossing, visit www.fra.dot.gov/blockedcrossings/#

Winter Wine Walk is This Weekend

The Downtown Wheaton Association invites you to take part in the 3rd annual Winter Wine Walk from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, to celebrate a festive afternoon and evening in Downtown Wheaton. Your wine tasting begins at 111 E. Front St., where you check in and pick up your wine glass, tasting ticket and walking map to all the tasting locations. Your tour will take you through many of the shops and restaurants where you can taste a variety of wines. For more information, visit www.downtownwheaton.com.
