Library Hosting Concert This Sunday

Enjoy the music of Russia and Ukraine, as well as songs in Italian, French, Ukrainian, Hebrew, Yiddish, Spanish, and more. The Chicago Cossacks will play traditional Russian instruments such as domra (mandolin), balalaika, and bayan (button accordion) at a concert starting at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at the Wheaton Public Library, 225 N. Cross St. No registration is required to attend.

Mayor to Present State of the City Address

Mayor Suess will present his first State of the City Address at the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon tomorrow. Look for the State of the City video on the City’s Facebook and Twitter accounts after the event to take a look at some of the accomplishments in Wheaton in 2019 and what’s in store for 2020. Clothing Recycling Added to Monthly Electronic Recycling Events

A new program added to the monthly electronic recycling drop-off events allows you to bring clothing and shoes in any condition for recycling or reuse. The monthly events take place on the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon at the Public Works Storage Yard, 820 W. Liberty Drive. For more information, see www.wheaton.il.us/electronics. Please note there is a charge to recycle TVs and monitors.

Winter Wine Walk Coming Soon

The Downtown Wheaton Association invites you to take part in the 3rd annual Winter Wine Walk from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, to celebrate a festive afternoon and evening in Downtown Wheaton. Your wine tasting begins at 111 E. Front St., where you check in and pick up your wine glass, tasting ticket and walking map to all the tasting locations.
